Morel Mushroom Model

This fire piston is hand carved from yellow poplar and is hand dyed to match the natural colors of the morel mushroom. It has the same internal construction that all of our pistons have, which includes a brass barrel that has been brazed shut and a solid brass piston rod. The rod features a cross drilled tinder gripper which provides a positive grip to almost any tinder. Also, incorporated into every fire piston design is our unique pressure relief o-ring seat. The inside of the barrel and the o-ring seat are hand polished to reduce friction and provide a positive seal.
