Our "Ultimate Acorn Model" fire piston is another extremely popular model with our customers. Made from highly figured Cocobolo with hand carved acorn accents. It sports a buffalo bone tinder pick (shown with antler pick)and hand tied leather lanyard that has a hand carved acorn lanyard bead. All friction polished by hand to a lustrous and durable sheen. It has the same internal construction that all of our pistons have, which includes a brass barrel that has been brazed shut and a solid brass piston rod. The rod features a cross drilled tinder gripper which provides a positive grip to almost any tinder. Also, incorporated into every fire piston design is our unique pressure relief o-ring seat. The inside of the barrel and the o-ring seat are hand polished to reduce friction and provide a positive seal.
