"Buffalo Horn Model" Fire Piston. Carefully hand turned from water buffalo horn. These fire pistons have beautiful grain patterns and white streaking. They are polished by hand to a high gloss,"glass like" sheen. It has the same internal construction that all of our pistons have, which includes a brass barrel that has been brazed shut and a solid brass piston rod. The rod features a cross drilled tinder gripper which provides a positive grip to almost any tinder. Also, incorporated into every fire piston design is our unique pressure relief o-ring seat. The inside of the barrel and the o-ring seat are hand polished to reduce friction and provide a positive seal.
