" Explorer Model" Fire Piston in our (S F) standard figured grain pattern. This is another one of our most popular models. This fire piston is constructed from Nicaraguan Cocobolo and is friction polished by hand to a lustrous yet durable sheen. It has the same internal construction that all of our pistons have, which includes a brass barrel that has been brazed shut and a solid brass piston rod. The rod features a cross drilled tinder gripper which provides a positive grip to almost any tinder. Also, incorporated into every fire piston design is our unique pressure relief o-ring seat.
