This is our Cocobolo "Acorn Model" Fire Piston. This has been a long time favorite with our customers. It is constructed from Nicaraguan Cocobolo and is further enhanced with a hand carved acorn accents, then friction polished by hand to a lustrous sheen. It has the same internal construction that all of our pistons have, which includes a brass barrel that has been brazed shut and a solid brass piston rod. The rod features a cross drilled tinder gripper which provides a positive grip to almost any tinder. Also, incorporated into every fire piston design is our unique pressure relief o-ring seat. The inside of the barrel and the o-ring seat are hand polished to reduce friction and provide a positive seal.
